...Joy...

I have thought a lot this past week about the simple joys that motherhood brings into your life (I had to teach a YW lesson on it today). Motherhood is one of the most difficult, heart wrenching, emotional, tiring things I have ever done in my life, but also the most rewarding, happy, incredible, joyful times of my life have been because of motherhood. This mom business is a complex world of emotions, but I would never go back to my previous life.

Yesterday, I got to share in the joy and celebration for a friend whom is expecting twins. She is going to be an incredible mom and seeing how happy she was reminded me how lucky we are to be mothers.

So tell me-what is your favorite thing about being a mom?

Anne! I am so dumb! I just picked up that invitation on my kitchen counter today and thought, "I better put this on the fridge so I don't forget!" and it was over! I am finding that I am about a week behind in my head calendar. It's beginning to be a problem.

Please tell Holly that I was planning on coming and I'm so sad I missed it, and that she is too small to be carrying twins in that little belly. She doesn't even look pregnant! And is that Anne Gardner? I haven't seen her since 1999!

I have no profound thoughts on being a mother, but I do think that it has given me the most fullfillment that I could have ever imagined. The love you feel as a mother is incredible and I just can't get enough of it. How lucky are we to get to experience that love?

long enough! the end.

Oh I am sad that I wasn't there. It looks like you had fun celebrating Holly and her babies. I hope I get to see her before she has them. Anyways I miss you guys.

I think being a mom is entertaining. Maybe it is just the stage Addie is in, but I am laughing a good majority of the day. Kids are funny.

I love when I see my kids putting into actions things they have been taught (by me!). Today at the store, Tyler blew me kisses from across the aisle. I also like when I hear them saying to their friends "My body is a temple." It's a little strange to hear that from a child, but it's so sweet. Also, no matter how hard/bad the day is, I love going to check on my kids sleeping before I go to sleep - those are the moments when I love them so much I could explode!

Your litle Ryan is so stikin cute - love the new pictures.

You are such a great friend! Thank you for everything...it was so great to see everyone and get all of the scary, er, good advice:). Let's just say that the one that has stuck with me is what happens when you remove the suction cups from the pump. Okay, actually Jess's story topped that b/c I didn't realize that was possible, but yes, those crappy things pass and little sweet monkeys are left:). If you didn't already have your hands full I'd insist you come and show me the way as I try to figure out how to deal with two little man-cubs. Thanks again!

Umm. I'm totally sad that my face is not in this picture. Sigh. I'm glad you all got together though. So fun to celebrate Holly and babies and motherhood and friendship.

yep you saw me running:) I was out doing a long run and was freezing. It looked nice outside, but for some reason that was the coldest morning of the week.
I'm so glad you find so much joy in motherhood and shared that on your blog. I look forward to having a little baby soon (not pregnant, but looking forward to it)! I am getting baby hungry tons lately. Every small child I come across I just want to pick up hug and take home. One day!/:)

My favorite thing is seeing their faces light up when you walk in a room. Nothing could be greater than that, knowing that you can turn their whole world happy just by seeing your face. To them, we are their world and I love making it a happy place for them!

I love watching my baby sleep. It is the most peacefull and beautiful thing in the world for me. I love getting to be there for all of Bella's "first" experiences. First time rolling, eating, sitting, smiling, laughing etc. I love cuddling with her and also I love it when she has that clean baby smell out of the bath. Such simple things but they fill my life with so much joy.
