This poor guy...

Photobucket

...has been to the hospital 3 times in the past three and a half weeks-one time being while we were down at Lake Powell. 2 of the times because the kidney stone he got in Switzerland decided to let him know it had never really passed and the 3rd time for multiple blood clots in both of his lungs. Unfortunately, he was admitted for the last of the visits and since they have no idea what caused the blood clots Pete won a life-long ticket on blood thinners. We really are VERY lucky to still have him with us since many people are killed when blood clots travel to the lungs. We wanted to thank everyone for all the love, support, and concern we were shown over the past week-we really appreciate it.

Sigh. Is there no end?! So glad that Pete is okay. Wishing you many many years without any more visits to the hospital!

So scary! I am glad he is doing better. Not fun to be on blood thinners forever though. Maybe they will figure out what caused the clots eventually. I agree with Amy, I think you have had your share of hospital visits for a while.
We aren't going to be back to Utah until right before Christmas. I wish it were sooner!

whoa I had no idea any of this was going on. I'm glad you have family there! If something like this happened to us I would have to live on the phone. Blood thinners for life is way better than the alternative....that's putting it mildly I guess.

And you poor wife! What a crazy few weeks! Hopefully things die down and the drama subsides. Hope Pete is feeling better. Lucky for him his wife is a real life nurse:). We're thinking of you--

Holy cow Anne! That is crazy!! You are amazing though. Seriously. You are always so positive and you always stay so thoughtful to others. I sincerely admire you so much. That is truly crazy about the blood clots! Where are they coming from?!! So weird. At least he has the meds now to know how to take care of it. We'll be thinking of you guys. And seriously...you are amazing. :)

SAD!! Okay so I have to admit that the nurse in me read that and immediately started diagnosing him. :) Odd that they all made it to his lungs, and no PFO? I hope he can avoid the hospital for a good long while!

Oh how awful for you guys...I can't imagine the anxiety and stress and worry you must have all gone through. I am so glad things are better. Just looking at this pic of Ryan and your hubby is so hopeful...they seem so happy even during such a scary time. I'm glad all is now well.
