Ambien

Pete arrived home safe and sound-thankfully;)-but now he is battling a serious case of jet lag. The philippines is completely opposite with their nights and days compared to us and for some reason it is really easy to switch over to their time zone, but usually takes him about 2 weeks to adjust back to mountain standard time. Pete stayed up all night last night and informed me on our way to church that he was going to take an Ambien tonight to help him get some sleep. Now most people wouldn't start to have a panic attack when their husband mentioned to them that he was going to take an Ambien, but I did. Here's why...

Last summer, Pete was battling his jet lag after his trip to the Philippines and decided to take some Ambien to help him sleep. We went to bed and thankfully he fell asleep quickly. The next thing I know I am being woken up by a large crashing noise and I see Pete laying on the floor by our bed. I asked him what he was doing and he told me he was trying to get downstairs because they were coming to get him. I helped him back into bed and informed him that it was the middle of the night and that no one was coming for him. Then he asked me why I let them take him. I asked him who did I let take him and he then got very upset that I let strangers come and take him away. He seemed so betrayed that I would let him go without knowing who he was going with. He told me that he was very worried if they came back because this time they weren't going to let him come back home. I once again reassured him that no one was here and that he was dreaming.

We both fell back asleep and then I woke up to him once again trying to go downstairs and collapsing on the floor. Now Pete is on blood thinners and sleep walking+ hallucinations+stairs+ blood thinners=a serious hazard to his well being. I decided it was best to not fall back asleep and kept having to pin him down to get him to stay in bed and tell him that no one was coming. He kept telling me that if they came again he wouldn't come back. He even sent me a goodbye text message telling me he loved me and that he was sorry he would be gone (don't worry we were laying next to each other when he sent it to me). I intercepted the one he was trying to send to his mom:) Then he asked me if I could move things without touching them-which of course I said no to-and he told me that the people that took him could. They could move rocks without even touching them. Finally he fell back asleep and when he woke up the next morning had absolutely NO recollection of what had happened. He didn't believe me and still thinks I made it up-even after I showed him the crazy message he texted me. So now you can see why I panicked when he said he was taking Ambien. Here's to a night of hallucinations....

Ha ha ha! That is so crazy. Gideon laughs in his sleep and tells me weird dreamy stuff, but nothing close to this. I love it.

haha, ambien was my friend for awhile. I thought we were in nauvoo and I kept looking for a good covered wagon for our family. It really is strange!

Now the bed is my friend I used to hate to go to bed, I suffer with awful restless leg syndrom. About 4 years ago my doc put me on Ambien after a sleep study in NY Meth hospital. IT has been a God Send to me. I am thankful for each night I can sleep without the creepy crawling of my legs & arms. It is habbit forming but non addictive. That means; yes I need it to sleep nightly, but no I never sit at my desk & crave it. I never think oh I need an ambien. I just know 30 minutes before bedtime it works great. I have found that walking about 9:00pm and taking it after knocks me out. I guess the blood is really pumping good. Sex is better with it and you do want to eat (just about anything). Good luck- i hope your bed is no longer your enemy!
